September 2023 ushered in a new era for Chileka International Airport in Malawi’s commercial city, Blantyre. Airport Developments Limited (ADL) introduced an automated car park management system at the airport, to enhance the safety and security of vehicles for the traveling public and staff working at the airport, as well as to optimize car park fee collection.
The multi-million Malawi Kwacha system is a combination of advanced technology to provide hassle-free parking. Motorists are now finding it easy to locate available parking spaces and navigate the airport's parking facility.
The state-of-the-art car park management system aligns with ADL's commitment to enhancing the overall airport experience for its valued customers, with heightened security of vehicles for the traveling public at Chileka International Airport.
The system provides for the option of the use of the card which allows holders to pay for multiple access to the car park.
The automated car park management system also allows motorists to pay through cash, visa cards, and mobile money platforms like Mpamba and Airtel money.
